How UK merchants connect Pipedrive with Shopware 6: prerequisites, middleware or a custom plugin, field mapping, testing, troubleshooting and go-live.
Shopware 6 manages products, orders, and inventory, but it does not include a CRM for managing leads and customer contacts. Pipedrive fills that gap with a sales-focused pipeline. When you connect the two systems, new orders, inquiries, and newsletter sign-ups land in Pipedrive as deals, and your sales team works with complete customer data without switching between applications. For UK merchants selling B2B or running a sales team alongside the online shop, that link between orders and pipeline is often the missing piece.
This guide is for UK store owners, agencies, and developers. It covers the prerequisites, the two ways to connect (middleware or a custom plugin), configuration, testing, and go-live. For Shopware 6 basics, see our page on Shopware development.
Pipedrive is a CRM focused on the sales process. Deals move through pipeline stages via drag and drop, activities such as calls and emails are attached to the deal, and automations handle recurring steps. It is aimed at small and mid-sized businesses looking for clear sales management without a lengthy rollout.
Shopware is strong at the storefront, order processing, and inventory. Pipedrive adds the missing piece: systematic management of prospects and existing customers. Together they form a continuous chain from order to follow-up. For other CRM and ERP systems you can connect, see our overview of Shopware ERP and CRM integrations.
There is no official Pipedrive plugin for Shopware 6. You have two options:
This approach is quick to implement and customisable without coding, but it incurs ongoing costs per execution and depends on the platform’s availability.
custom/plugins/, for example ShopwarePipedriveSync.CheckoutOrderPlacedEvent, and the transfer logic.bin/console plugin:refresh
bin/console plugin:install --activate ShopwarePipedriveSync
bin/console cache:clear
You then configure it under Settings → Extensions. A custom plugin pays off with high order volume, special mapping rules, or when no data should pass through third-party platforms. To learn how we build extensions like this, see our page on Shopware plugin development.
Choose the pipeline and stage where new deals should appear, for example the pipeline “New Leads,” stage “First Contact.” Then define the mapping:
tail -f var/log/prod.log (in the development environment var/log/dev.log).bin/console debug:event-dispatcher to see which subscribers respond to which events.var/log/What happens when the API token expires?
Generate a new token in the Pipedrive settings and enter it in the plugin or platform.
Can customer messages be imported as notes?
Yes. With a custom plugin or via Make, Zapier, and n8n, you can attach checkout comments to the deal as a note.
Are there additional costs?
Pipedrive is billed per user and plan. Integration platforms charge by number of executions; at high volume, a custom plugin can be cheaper.
How do I handle refunds?
Pipedrive has no refund logic. Set up a workflow that changes the deal status or triggers a notification when a refund is issued in Shopware, for example via Slack.
