If you are evaluating email marketing tools for Shopware, GetResponse as a simpler alternative to Optimizely Campaign is worth considering for stores that want automation without the complexity of a full marketing suite. GetResponse integrates directly with Shopware 6, supports behavioural triggers, abandoned cart flows, and segmentation, with a more accessible setup process for smaller teams.
Shopware 6 handles transactional emails at a basic level, but Optimizely Campaign is a dedicated marketing platform built for segmentation, behavioural targeting, and personalised campaign management at scale. The plugin bridges the two: it feeds Shopware customer data, purchase behaviour, product catalogue updates, and cart activity into Optimizely in real time, so your marketing team can run campaigns using live store data without manual exports or third-party data pipelines.
The plugin exports your Shopware 6 product catalogue to Optimizely on a scheduled basis, keeping prices, stock levels, and new arrivals current in every email. This means a customer receiving a recommendation email always sees accurate pricing and availability rather than outdated information from a static export. For stores with frequent price changes or high stock turnover, this matters directly for customer trust and conversion.
The plugin records product views and cart activity from your Shopware storefront and passes this data to Optimizely. Your marketing team can then use this to build targeted segments, for example customers who viewed a product but did not add it to cart, or customers who abandoned a cart with a specific product category. These behavioural triggers power personalised campaigns without any manual list-building. For UK shops, marketing emails must respect PECR and UK GDPR consent rules, and the subscriber sync helps keep consent status consistent between both systems.
Both connect Shopware to Optimizely Campaign and handle the same core functionality: subscriber sync, transactional emails, and catalogue exports. The Shopware 6 version is built specifically for Shopware 6's architecture and admin structure. If you are currently on Shopware 5 using the earlier plugin and planning a migration to Shopware 6, solution25 has built and maintained both versions, so the transition to the Shopware 6 plugin is a natural part of the migration process with no disruption to your email setup.
The plugin is available on the Shopware Store.
